Usually when a lot of people think of New York they often think of the restaurants as being expensive and real lavish with stylish decor. However, there are plenty of restaurants in New York that don't fall into this stereotype and offer some of the finest food for lower prices. Next time you visit, here is a small list of the best restaurants in NYC that are worth eating at.
If you want great Italian food then consider dining at Peasant restaurant. It has some of the most delectable Italian food in New York City. It almost feels like you are entering a bomb shelter when walking into Peasant restaurant, but the atmosphere is much different inside the dining room. The restaurant gives off a nice sense of home with its brick and wood interior. Bulky curtains line the walls and candles adorn the tables with their flames. This is a great restaurant to take a date if you are looking for a great warm and romantic setting. All the food here will just simply melt in your mouth and leave you wanting more.
Ippudo restaurant is the place for great Japanese food. This little restaurant is located in the heart of the East Village and offers some great Japanese food. A reservation is a must for this restaurant due to its popularity otherwise you will be waiting for an hour or longer to get a table. The food is delicious and worth every bite.
I know I covered a Japanese restaurant already, but I can't leave out Morimoto's. If you've ever caught a glimpse of Iron Chef America on the Food Network then you are aware that this is the same Iron Chef Morimoto as seen on TV. You really feel as if you are being teleported back in time upon entering this restaurant. The staff at Morimoto's is professional, courteous and the food is absolutely incredible. Morimoto's isn't cheap, but I, and a lot of other patrons, think it is worth every penny.
If you want a slice that you won't forget then check out the pizza at Fornino. Brooklyn is the spot for this pizza, but if you want to trek outside of the busy NYC streets then it is more than worth it. You'll enjoy some of the greatest pizza in New York while eating in their friendly dining room atmosphere. This is a great place to take your family for a fun night out.
